A Fresh Start

So I haven't posted in awhile...

Here are some things that have changed:

-College is finished. I graduated with a B.S. in Bible/Worship Ministry

-I have moved from the bustling midwest metropolis of Manhattan, KS to Lee's Summit, MO

-I am currently working at Legacy Christian Church in Lee's Summit as their Worship and Arts Intern

Here are some things that haven't changed:

-I still love riding my bicycle

-I still love leading God's people in His worship

-I still have a strange fascination with shoes

One thing that I want to commit to is to maintain this blog and update consistently. I want it to be a place for discussions on worship, Christianity, and life in general.

I am currently looking at a new instrument, not to necessarily to replace my Dean, but I am intrigued by the Taylor T-5. Has anyone played these?

The Witch is on her way

the weather in Manhattan has been very strange today.

i went to get a famous bowl (today was the last day) and it started hailing and pouring rain. the sky looked like one from a horror/sci-fi film. i wanted to lasso a tornado like Pecos Bill.

no luck, no tornado, lots of rain.

Bill thinks my posts are too short, but i am just a simple man...

stupid is as stupid does

I've Never Even Left The States...

I have never been outside of the boundaries of the United States. I have never even left the continental 48.

This morning I was woken up by an acquaintance calling me to ask if I was ok. Of course, I thought. I'm lying in bed just waking up in the middle of my spring break.

Apparently, someone posing as me on my facebook account was claiming that I had been mugged in London and needed money sent to me to get home. This was startling. I then had another friend call me asking the same thing.

I have no clue who did this or how, but I do not need any money, unless you want to give me some.

Good bye facebook, for now. I am taking a vacation.

Not to London...

Attah Ha-ish!

I think that today is the first day in awhile that I have felt like an adult. I would not consider myself immature by character, but adulthood feels differently than I had imagined it as a kid.

I'm not sure what it was that I had expected; to wake up at dawn and drive to work, drink excessive amounts of black coffee and go to the store. Paying bills and watching the nightly news. These were the what made a person an adult when I was a child.

Today I purchased a vacuum. Simple purchase, yet profound. I had fulfilled something that took me back to those childhood ideals of adulthood. My ideas of adulthood are vastly different now; taking care of a house, a dog, a girlfriend that almost cut her finger off... these are what makes someone an adult. Responsibility.

I'm going out with the camera today; I hope it doesn't blow out of my hands.

The wind in Kansas is yet again ruining another potentially wonderful day. It can't stay warm outside when this devil-wind keeps a-blowin'.

Explain to me how colder weather constitutes less clothing...

I think I'm ready to get back into the swing of school.

Got some new books, old classics, and can't wait to take the time to read them.

If you see me sitting around doing nothing, remind me I have homework or reading that I can do.
